Here I love you
Between the bush breeze
and ocean spray
The trees whisper your name
and the sun sets in shame every day….

Here I love you

oceans and seas away

across continents

my love floats on tides and

returns every day

Here I love you

amongst the oily eucalypts

and discarded stringy bark

The birds’ cries of longing

echo the ache in my heart

Here I love you

where Honeysuckle blossom

roused by the moonglow

seduces my sensibilities

and lets my tears flow

Here I love you

as sunrise greets me with

a wicked smile

to remind me that

I must go on living

without you
