My Whole Life- ala Jorge Luis Borges

I used a Borges poem/style as inspiration starters and used an experimental noun alternative to my initial response.

Which noun in each sentence do you prefer? I couldn’t decide, so have included all my options.

Here, once again,  I lay  out/open up  my heart/heaven

I kept it locked and secure in my  treasure/chest

I have been fooled by  masters/masks  of indifference

I have lost my  way/wealth  through the  haze/headline  of heartbreak/burn

I have stumbled on the  stones/storm of  insecurity/instability

I have given all but received  crumbs/crusades in return

I have exhausted all my  faculties/failings/faith

I believe in a  love/lullaby

simmering in my  soul/soup
